About the Event
To celebrate both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, Indictus Project explores the experiences of children and caregivers through rediscovered art songs and piano music by underrepresented composers from a wide range of eras! Find your heart tickled, entertained and touched by the artistry of Grammy-winning bass-baritone Dashon Burton, acclaimed soprano Elissa Alvarez, and sought-after collaborative pianist Eunmi Ko. You will hear rare gems by Cecile Chaminade, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Pauline Viardot, Florence Price, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Carrie Jacobs-Bond and others, including many modern-day premieres! A perfect gift to share with a loved one, a great way for educators and students to expand repertoire awareness, and an enjoyably accessible introduction to art song and classical music for anyone! All proceeds go towards the mission of Indictus Project, which is to amplify the voices and legacies of womxn, POC, LGBTQ+, religious and ethnic minorities, and other underrepresented and marginalized composers and performers throughout history.
